Multisite Ministry

Trinity is involved in an innovative initiative called “Multisite Ministry.”  On a Sunday morning we are joined virtually by up to three other congregations, live, in a fully interactive service.  So different parts of the service come from different “sites.”

Currently, we are regularly joined, once or twice a month, by St. Paul’s United, Thunder Bay, and  Pinegrove United in Rosslyn. The three congregations take turns hosting the service.

In 2024, we have also occasionally been joined by Broadway United in Thunder Bay and by Trinity United in Chapleau.

During the COVID lockdowns of 2020 and 2021, this ministry brought most of the Thunder Bay area United Churches together to continue offering worship services to our several congregations in their homes. A strong virtual choir was formed to bring strong, encouraging music to those services, and to keep choristers from the various congregations active and working together.

Through live-streaming of our services, we continue to bring worship services to those who wish to join us from far away and those who are shut-in at home.

While this is a ministry of Trinity United, Thunder Bay, the pattern that emerged during the COVID years is to rotate the hosting of the service among those participating congregations who are interested in taking on the leadership role from time to time. To reflect the concept of a shared, inter-congregational responsibility for our multi-site, streamed worship, a separate website has been developed: tbayunitedmedia.ca. Please visit this new site for more information.

If you would like to join us, please contact the Trinity church office and we can discuss how that could happen.
