From Rev. Canon Ed Swayze, Chaplain to the Mission to Seafarers: Port of Thunder Bay, the following announcement:
“Christmas is just around the corner, which means Christmas Gift Bags for seafarers. The Mission to Seafarers: Port of Thunder Bay is looking for donations for Christmas Gift Bags to be given to seafarers starting on December 1. Our objective is to prepare for 14 ships with 19 bags/ship or 266 bags. Donations need to be at the Seafarers’ Centre by November 20. Use the drop-off box outside the Seafarers’ Centre or call the Seafarers’ Centre 807-344-8241 to make an appointment. Suggested donations include mittens, gloves, toques, neck warmers, Chap Stick, tooth paste, disposable razors, and chocolate. Sanitization practices will be followed when putting the bags together and the items will be in a sealed plastic bag.
